Chairman of University Council: ZHAO Lingyun
Prof. ZHAO Lingyun is Chairman of the University Council, Central China Normal University. He is also a State Council Expert for Special Allowance; one of the Hundred Cross-Century Talents in Hubei Province. He has been a member of the 10th and 11th CPC Hubei Provincial Committee; a member of the 4th, 5th and 6th Governmental Advisory Committee of the People’s Government of Hubei Province.
Prof. ZHAO joined CCNU as President in July 2018 and has been serving as CUC since November 2019.
He was previously President of Hubei University (2017-2018) and prior to that he held various roles on the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee between 2008 and 2017, including Deputy Secretary General, Director of Policy Research, and Deputy Director of Finance and Economics Office (Rural work). Prof. ZHAO was President of Academy of Social Sciences of Hubei Province (2005-2008) .
Prior to joining the Academy, Prof. ZHAO had positions at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, including Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC and Vice President and Director of Office of Project 211 (1983-2005).
Prof. ZHAO has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Economics, a Master’s degree in Economic History, and a Doctorate in Political Economics.
Prof. ZHAO has been recognized nationally for his other work, including: awarded first prize of Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation for Young Teachers; Director of Chinese Economic History Association; Chairman of Federation of Social Science of Hubei Province; Vice Chairman of Hubei Federation of Economic Organizations.
President: HAO Fanghua
Dr. HAO Fanghua has served as President of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since November, 2019.
Dr. HAO earned her B.S and M.S. in Hydrology at Hohai University and D. Eng. at Beijing Normal University(BNU). She has been a senior visiting scholar in many internationally renowned universities, e.g. University of Hawaii, UC Berkeley and the University of Twente.
In 1988, Dr. HAO joined the BNU faculty and combined a wide-range of administrative duties with teaching and research in BNU since then. She was promoted to associate professor in 1995 and to professor in 2001. Before becoming President of CCNU, she served as Deputy Dean of School of Environment, Director of Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Dean of College of Water Sciences, and Vice President of BNU.
A renowned water science scholar, Dr. HAO was electedto the first National Environmental Technology Leading Talents and Vice Dean of National Yangzte River Eco-Environment Protection and Repairment Joint Research Center. Her main research fields include protection and planning of water resources, green development and strategic planning, as well as water security management. She published numerous articles and reviews in above mentioned areas. She has been invited as a senior consultant in drafting national environmental assessment and water pollution control standards and regulations in China.She also involved in making national strategic decisions about clean energy explorations, such as hydropower stations site selection and construction.Dr. HAOis the recipient of over 10 national, provincial and ministerial level academic awards for her researches.
Dr. HAO is playing a very active role in social and academic organizations on environmental sciences. She has also served on the committees of academic organizations, including ChinaEnvironmental Impact Assessment Committee, China Eco-Environment Big Data Committee and Chinese Water Policy Research Committee.
Vice Chairman of University Council: ZHA Daolin
Prof. ZHA Daolin has served as Vice Chairman of the University Council of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since February, 2020.
Prof. ZHA earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Sichuan University and Master’s Degree and Doctorate from Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics.
Between 1988 to 1992, Prof. ZHA worked with the Second Construction Engineering Co.,Ltd of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau. Then he joined China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and held various positions, including Deputy Dean of the Accounting Department, Director of the Finance Office, Director of the Audit Office and Associate Vice President from 1995 to 2013. Prior to taking the current position as Vice Chairman of University Council of CCNU, he had served as Chief Accountant from 2013 to 2018, then Vice President from 2018 to 2020 of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) .
Having been long engaged in the field of university financial management, Prof. ZHA has led more than 20 important research projects, supported by National Social Science Fund of China and the Humanities and Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education, etc., and got many awards for his scientific achievements. Prof. ZHA was also elected to the National Leading Accounting Talents and has been awarded as National Outstanding Accountant.
Prof. ZHA is highly recognized for his engagement in social and academic organizations, including National Higher Education Institutions Setup Evaluation Committee,National Accounting Teaching Steering Committee and Management Accounting Consultants of Ministry of Finance. Concurrently, he serves as the Vice Chairman of Education Accounting Society of China and Executive member of Education Finance Research Association of China.
Vice Chairman of University Council: CHEN Houfeng
Dr. CHEN Houfeng has served as Vice Chairman of University Council andSecretary of Discipline Check Committeeof CCNU since March 2018.
He graduated from the School of History and Culture of Hunan Normal University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1992 and Educational Science Research Institute of Hunan University with a Master’s degree in 2004. He then earned his Doctorate in Pedagogy from the Institute of Education of Xiamen University.
Dr. CHEN has been playing a very active role in academic organizations: he worked in Hunan University since 1992 as a teacher of the Department of Humanity as well as Party Branch Secretary of the Office of Teaching & Research for Chinese Revolutionary History, and successively served as Deputy Director of the Party Committee, Director of Strategic Study Office, and Director of Information Technology Service Office, etc. Before becoming Vice Chairman of University Council of CCNU, he is a member of the Eighth Party Committee of Hunan University (2012) and a member of the Twelfth CPPCC of Hunan Province (2018).
He has been engaged in the research of Higher Education for a long time and published several monographs and more than 60 academic papers, presided over or participated in 5 national major research projects such as those supported by the Humanities and Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and “985 Project” as well as 5 provincial projects and got many awards for his scientific achievements.
Vice President: PENG Nansheng
Prof. PENG Nansheng has served as Vice President of CCNU since January 2014.
Prof. PENG graduated from the School of History and Culture of CCNU with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1985 and served as a teacher since then while studying for his Master’s Degree and Doctorate, after which he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Nanjing University (1998-2000) and was a visiting scholar of Hong Kong Baptist University sponsored by United Board Foundation from September 2001 to June 2002. He was previously Dean of the School of History and Culture of CCNU (2008-2012) and has been Director of the Office of Scientific Research since May 2012. Moreover, he was chosen to be a member of the Standing Committee of University Council in 2014.
As an elite talent in Chinese Modern Economic History and the Revolution of 1911, he was elected as an expert possessing Special Government Allowances of the State Council and one of Hundred Talents of the Century. Prof. PENG also is impressive with his excellency in academia, presiding over a number of national major projects such as those supported by National Social Science Fund of China and the Humanities and Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education, etc. 5 monographs and more than 100 academic papers also witnessed his tireless dedication.
Vice President: XIA Lixin
Prof. XIA Lixin has served as Vice President of CCNU since June 2017.
Prof. XIA obtained a Doctorate in Information Science from Wuhan University in 2002. Prior to that, he graduated from CCNU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Intelligence and a Master’s Degree in Historical Philology. After graduation, Prof. XIA joined various social and academic organizations: he first worked in Wuhan University of Technology, holding the position of assistant librarian, and then transferred to Wuhan Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute before he became an Associate Professor and then a Professor in CCNU. He is a member of the Standing Committee of University Council as well and has been working as Dean of School of Information Management since 2012.
As an expert possessing Special Government Allowances of the State Council, Prof. XIA is mainly engaged in teaching and research work in Information Organization and Retrieval, Knowledge Management and Knowledge Service, Digital Library, and has successively presided over and completed more than 10 important projects at all levels, supported by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, National Natural Science Fund of China, etc. with the publication of 8 monographs and over 120 academic papers, manifesting his outstanding achievement in different fields.
Vice President: REN Youzhou
Mr. REN Youzhou has served as Vice President of CCN since November 2019.
Mr. REN graduated from CCNU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
He worked in the Office of Scientific Research of CCNU from (1988-1992), during which time he was temporarily transferred to the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of Ministry of Education (1992-1994). Since 1997, Mr. REN successively served as Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges,Executive Deputy Directorof the College of International Cultural Exchange, Director of the Human Resources Office etc. In the process of constructing Liangzihu Campus, he shouldered the responsibility of Deputy General Director and Office Director of Liangzihu Campus Construction Headquarters and is now a member of Standing Committee of University Council.
Vice President: PENG Shuangjie
Prof. PENG has served as Vice President of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since November 2019.
Prof. PENG graduated from Hubei University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and earned a Master’s Degree in Basic Mathematics from CCNU as well as a Doctorate from Academy of Mathematical and System Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His excellent contribution to academia and this organization is well recognized by the country and the public as an expert possessing Special Government Allowances of the State Council and recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and candidate of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, etc. He worked successively as a Professor, Associate Dean, Dean,Deputy Party Secretaryin the School of Mathematics and Statistics of CCNU since July 2005 and served as a member of the Standing Committee of University Council since November 2019.
Vice President: LI Hongfei
Dr. LI Hongfei has served as Vice President of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since November 2019.
Dr. LI graduated from the College of Urban & Environmental Sciences of CCNU with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography Education and a Master’s Degree in Regional Economics, before he obtained a Doctorate of Western Economics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Since July 1992, Dr. LI has dedicated himself to CCNU. For the subsequent years, he held a number of teaching and administrative positions, such as Associate Dean andDeputy Party Secretaryof the College of Vocational and Continuing Education, Director of the Office of Laboratory and Equipment Management,Head of Informatization Office, Director of Human Resources Office, etc. He was also elected as a member of the Standing Committee of University Council in November 2019.
Vice Chairman of University Council: Chen Diming
Mr. CHEN Diming has served as Vice Chairman of the University Council of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since December, 2020.
Mr. Chen graduated from the School of Education Science of CCNU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1996 and a Master’s Degree in 2006.
He has been working in CCNU since 1996 and served at various positions, including Deputy Secretary of Party Branch of the College of Education Science, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Education, Deputy Head of Organization Department of CCNU Party Committee and Vice President of the Party School. He also shouldered the responsibility of Secretary of Party Committee of the College of Physical Science and Technology as well as General Office Director of CCNU.
Associate Vice President: LIN Gengmao
Dr. LIN Gengmao has served as Associate Vice President of Central China Normal University (CCNU) since January 2014.
Dr. LIN graduated from the School of Politics and International Studies of CCNU with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1991 and worked here henceforth and he then became a research fellow with a Doctorate.
He used to be Secretary of the Communist Youth League of the Russian Department of CCNU as well as counselor and director of the office of the Russian Department. Dr. LIN served as the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of CCNU since 1997, during which period he was seconded by the Ideological and Political Department of the Ministry of Education from March 1998 to September 1998 before he presided over the work (2001-2002). He then served as the Chairman of CCNU Youth Union and the Director of the General Office of CCNU. In January 2010, he was elected Associate Vice President and served as Deputy Secretary of Discipline Check Committee since May 2012.
Apart from his engagement in school affairs, Dr. LIN is active in many other fields as well. He is Deputy to the 15th National Congress of the Communist Youth League. He also served as a press spokesman of CCNU (2009-2012). Having been playing an important role in school’s party work, he was proposed as a Member of the 9th, 10th, and 11th CPC Central China Normal University Committee as well as a member of the 7th and 8th Discipline Check Committee.
